We broke up.
For all the talk about how Kevonte and I were building a beautiful relationship, our love connection had run its course and I’m back in the dating pool.
Even though I was the one who ended it, I do think about him from time to time. Just like after any break-up, I wonder what he’s saying about me. I wonder if this relationship mattered to him. And more importantly, I wonder what I was supposed to learn from this one.
Mid-grief, I know the biggest lesson I take away from Kevonté and I is my capacity for love. I have the ability to want and dream and desire, it not pan out how I’d hoped, and still be okay.
I wish Kevonté the best. I’m glad we were. But I’m even more hopeful for what is yet to come for me.
